Dangerously claimed honours in the opening heat of the Country Challenge Championship after posting a hard-earned victory at Bunbury.
Dangerously, prepared by Graham Yuill and ridden by his jockey daughter, Kyra, finished strongly to edge out Monumental by a long-head.
Brett Pope’s Phenomenal Anemone, who led from the outset for rider Peter Hall, was close up in third.
Dangerously improved his record to three wins from 16 starts and gave Yuill her first success since returning from injury.
Yuill suffered a broken ankle after being dislodged from Grandstand in the Apprentices’ Cup (2200m) at Belmont Park earlier in September.
Heat two of the Country Challenge will be staged at Albany on Thursday.
A field of ten is engaged including King Cubator for leading trainer Steve Wolfe and You Buddy Beauty who has drawn well in gate one.
