Trevor Andrews always exudes confidence as a man who is happy and contented with his lot and never more so than after Miltary Secret (Paul Harvey) had finished strongly to overwhelm the favourite, Grey Cheval (Pat Carbery), in the Crown Perth Sprint (1000m).

In response to a comment by course MC, Wes Cameron, about the galloper having his best ever campaign, Andrews said “I have finally learned how to train him after three seasons.”

Although Military Secret has been up since December, starting 12 times since January, he has scored three wins from his last six races.

The trainer said he was suited by the fast pace in front set by the grey filly after racing rearwards in ninth position until the concluding stages.

Andrews will keep him “fresh and happy” as a 1000m specialist.

Peter Morley purchased the horse, for the Belhus Racing Syndicate, from Gerry Harvey, three seasons ago, and the horse won at Canterbury for them first up in his new colours of blue and white.
