A brilliant front running performance by the Justin Warwick trained In Plain Sight ($6.00), proved the difference in the Seacorp Handicap over1400m on Saturday, securing a fantastic win for connections.

Jockey Shaun Meeres was advantaged by watching an entire Belmont card which saw every winner for the day come from sixth or better entering the final 400m. Drawing barrier eight, Meeres sent the lightly raced 4yo son of Starcraft straight to the lead on settling, and never looked back. With the rail out nine metres, fancied runners Stay Lady Stay ($3.20 fav), and Pinjarra newcomer Scamandrius ($4.20), were forced to work hard early from outside barriers – both failing to run on when it mattered.

Master Marlon ($14.00) and Shezapro ($10.00) both flew home late from well back in the field to capture second and third respectively.

Justin Warwick continues to cement his training reputation in the local galloping scene, after starting his career with success in the harness industry. His relatively small stable boasts the likes of recent multiple city winner Frenchman and black type winner Rosie Rocket. The win was In Plain Sight’s second from five career starts, and its first city class victory – with many more now expected.
