Popular jockey Roz Bynder said she was delighted and honoured to be named runner-up in Miss NAIDOC 2012 last week.

Bynder was one of eleven entries from a diverse range of backgrounds that depicted a positive and contemporary image of Aboriginal and Torres Strait women in Perth.

“I’m so excited and I can’t begin to explain what it feels like,” said Bynder.

“It was an honour to be part of the competition and I had so much fun”.

“It was an unbelievable experience and I’m looking forward to the next month months and assisting and supporting Rachel (Visser)”.

Rachel Visser, a project officer at the Aboriginal Workforce Development Centre, was crowned Miss NAIDOC 2012.
