Young Darley based stallion New Approach (IRE) has stamped himself as an exceptional sire in the making after posting three individual two year old stakes-winners at the Royal Ascot meeting last week, the best of those Dawn Approach, set to race on in Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin colours.

New Approach, a son of Galileo, was crowned top two year old and three year old of his generation in a remarkable racing career which saw him victorious in five Group One events including the English Derby. Currently he has his first crop racing as juveniles in the northern hemisphere and has his first Australian crop set to race in the approaching new racing season.

A statement on the Godolphin website confirmed they had purchased a majority share in Dawn Approach (pictured Caroline Searcy) and the unbeaten colt would remain in training with Jim Bolger for the rest of this year. Bolger was also the former trainer of New Approach.

New Approach now stands at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley Stud and shuttles to Darley Victoria in Australia where he commands a fee of $33,000.
